The annual leadership training program (LEAD), co-sponsored by the HH Wingate Foundation together with Louanne Smolin and David Eaton, runs across a one-year period for an outstanding group of professionals who have demonstrated their potential to be ORT’s future educational leaders and senior managers.
It opens with a week-long conference looking at aspects of educational leadership.
The program combines face-to-face and online training, collaborative projects and written assignments. Training covers different aspects of leadership, developing a deeper understanding of communication and motivation. Participants will identify the styles and methods of leadership that will enable them to make the greatest impact in leading improvement for their school.
The program works towards improving the educational standards of participating institutions. The training provides our professional staff with the skills to lead teams of teachers and implement the vision and strategy of senior leadership in schools on a daily basis.

How does the World ORT LEAD Program benefit teachers?
Leadership seminar provides pause for thought: It was the country music star Dolly Parton who said: “If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you are an excellent leader.”
A new programme aimed at supporting the “engine room” of education has been launched by World ORT with the backing of the HH Wingate Foundation.
Education is one of the few professions where people are promoted into managerial positions and expected to pick up the necessary skills on the job. Fortunately for teachers in the World ORT network, there is the LEAD (Leadership in Education, Administration and Development) Program.
“The seminar fostered me personally and professionally. I am certain the knowledge I gained will bring a great benefit to the school and Jewish community I work with.”
