Colegio León Pinelo is an affiliated ORT school and the only school serving Lima’s Jewish community. It is ranked among the top schools in Peru in a testament to its commitment to excellence.
It serves more than 270 students, who are of preschool to high school age. The school’s academic framework blends excellence with the values and traditions of Judaism and Peruvian identity.
The school offers instruction in Spanish, English, and Hebrew from early childhood. Additionally, it provides the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, fostering a comprehensive education that emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, and strong ethical values.
As part of its ICT syllabus, Colegio León Pinelo participates in World ORT programs. Its students have had the unique opportunity to take part in World ORT’s Ecology Summer School in Panama and the Scholas project in Panama and Brazil, further enriching their educational experience. The school’s teachers also participate in ORT workshops and conferences.
In the 1980s and 1990s, ORT established six mother-and-child education centers in Peru and implemented a distance learning project that provided skills training to 3,000 students.
