Sami Goldstein

Sami Goldstein was born in Cairo, Egypt and has lived in Brazil since 1957.

After completing his Business Studies degree at Columbia University and his Masters at MIT, he embarked on a 30-year career with IBM, working in Brazil, Uruguay, the U.S. and Colombia and retiring as V.P., Administration and Finance. He then took ownership of Oticas Fluminense, with 15 optical stores in Rio de Janeiro.

A lay leader and councillor participating in Jewish and non-Jewish communities, Sami has served as V.P. and as President of Rio de Janeiro’s largest synagogue, as V.P. of CHCJ (Jewish Center of History and Culture) and as President of ORT Brazil.

Sami is married with one son and one daughter.
