ORT’s motto is Impact Through Education and the organization was founded to help Jewish citizens climb out of poverty by giving them employable skills. In recent times, we have focused on providing education centered on STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — along with wider skills enabling thousands of students globally to stand out in the workplace.

Many of our students are from disadvantaged backgrounds or resource-poor communities. We aim to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity and, to fulfil this goal, we constantly strive to meet our students’ fast-changing needs. We provide vital resources and experiences they might otherwise never get to enjoy.

ORT also offers students the opportunity to participate in and lead extracurricular projects, including socially responsible entrepreneurship, innovation, and product development, which complement our strong foundation in STEM. The programs prepare them for careers in developing industries.

Alongside instruction for students, ORT invests in education and training for its teachers, helping them to future-proof their careers. Potential leaders are nurtured throughout our network, and this often results in schools retaining their best teachers. This, in turn, ensures that parents continue to choose our schools as centers of excellence, often in geographical areas where Jewish schools would not otherwise be a top choice.
