Students aged 15 to 17 select a specialist track to follow during the academy: digital photography, audio, or video production using industry-standard equipment. Sessions include visits to professional environments, such as television and film studios.
Attendees of the academy, held at ORT’s school in Sofia, Bulgaria, not only gain technical skills and knowledge, but also develop ‘soft’ skills, such as collaboration, communication, networking, and creativity — these are all invaluable for their future studies and employment.
The course also aims to enrich students’ Jewish heritage, identity, values and practices through participation in a traditional Shabbat program and a tikkun olam community project involving voluntary work.
The photography sessions, how to work with lighting, studio, and strobe lighting – I have learnt how to do it all. I have definitely grown as a person at the academy.”
